Who will my pet sitter/dog walker be?

p.s. Pet Sit is a Team of 6. Owner Zoe H Wells, her fiance' Scott Weddell, Brant and Kate, an experienced Vet Assistant will provide stellar walking and visiting services for you and your pets. We are all animal fanatics! We love all types of creatures, big and small, great and tall, and very very small.

Zoe

Zoe has a background in animal health care as a Veterinary Assistant, as a Volunteer at Animal Wildlife Refuges and is an avid reader and researcher. She also owned a Pet Sitting business in Oregon in 2000 and 2001 that was very successful. Her past clients still miss her! She also is a theater artist, trained in Dance, Acting, and Lighting Design. She loves to hike, read National Geographic and travel. She is here to stay in Philly... it is just the place to realize her dream... with p.s. Pet Sit!

Scott is the Head of the Boarding Department here at "Camp p.s. Pet Sit", caring for all the little (and not so little) buddies who stay in our home. Coming from a theater background, he is proficient at entertaining all who come to stay with us-- he takes our boarders hiking, swimming, walking, and he's a super cuddler too! He assisted in the development and success of their previous pet sitting business in Oregon, gaining years of experience working with many types of animals. He is great with all of them -- be them cats, chinchillas, birds or his favorite (shhhh! dont tell the others!) --- DOGS. He is the best walker around... strong, patient, loving and dedicated.

Scott
Kate

Kate, a devoted and loving care-giver, has many years experience working in a veterinary clinic as an animal care assistant. She has been involved with various animal rescue/adoption organizations, resulting in a rescue cat and dog of her own. Kate has a degree in psychology and is currently pursuing a second degree in nursing. She loves photography, the outdoors and trips to the dog park. p.s. Pet Sit is thrilled to have her on our team... you will be too!

Brant is our newest cat connoisseur and doggy devotee. He has spent most of his career in business management, but backed out of the rat race to do what he loves most: hanging out with pets! He has a BFA in painting and has taken to painting animals that we care for. Click here to see his creations. In addition to painting, he spends his evenings listening to old LP's on the Hi-Fi or perfecting his own brand of music. He lives with a gorgeous little stray cat named Beatrice who loves sleeping on top of Brant's old recliner and watching birds play in her backyard. Brant has two years of informal pet sitting experience and has NEVER met a beast he didn't like. He can't wait to meet yours!

Brant
Zoe

Heather, as we all call her, is our pet sitting "ROCKSTAR". She has owned and cared for all sorts of critters from Pit-bulls and Tabbies to rodents, birds and snakes. When she's not playing with animals, she is playing guitar, writing music, producing short films, directing theatre, DJing, singing in her bands, and watching cartoons. Lots and lots of cartoons. Heather's two best friends are Sir. Puffington Proper Paws and Bobby, the Amazing. They can often be found intertwined on the couch or bed, and their treat of choice is catnip. She cant wait to rock out with YOUR amazing creatures!

Nadia is one of our newest team members, and resident "dachshund expert"! She has spent the majority of her life raising and caring for the "long-ones", and vehemently believes that if you can handle a doxie, you can handle anything. She loves creatures big and small (and is waiting for the day that p.s. starts taking on horses-- she grew up riding them). She is also an artist, musician, sound designer, and freelance audio engineer… in addition to chipping away at her studies in the holistic health sciences. Her newest album and installation work will be in Stockholm, Berlin, Reykjavik, and Prague later this year. Her spare time is spent traveling, and being in the company of good friends. She's having a lot of fun hanging out with your furry and feathered friends!

How do I inquire about setting up service?

Please go the Contact Us page or email us at pspetsit@ gmail.com. You can also call us at
267-202-4200. If you reach voicemail, leave a detailed message including your name, your pets' names and breeds, and the services you are searching for, and we will call you back promptly.

Paperwork will be sent to you via email that we request you complete before our Meet n Greet. We will set up a Meet N Greet at your convenience. This meeting usually lasts about a half hour and is our opportunity to get to know each other. We also gain information from you about your pet's routine and feeding schedule, commands your dog knows, games your cat likes to play, what treats your bird likes, where food is located, potty spots, dog parks or walks your buddy is used to, etc. This is also the time where we pick up two keys. We ask that you have two extra keys for us at this time to alleviate the need to schedule another time to pick it up. We don't mind picking up keys at a later date, but there will be a small charge for this service.

You are not bound to using our services after the Meet N Greet. Meet us and see how you feel. We bet you wont be able to resist!

Will my dog be walked with other dogs?

It's up to you.

If your dogs like the company of other dogs, we can schedule your dog to be walked during a "play group" session, when we take a small group of dogs to a nearby dog park. This ensures great exercise because there are other dogs to play with. Our walkers are very hands on and provide safe and exciting playtime!

One on one dog walking allows the ultimate in attention for your dog and is required for those that do not generally get along well with other dogs. On walks we encourage on-leash socialization with other dogs and humans if we feel that it is safe. We also gladly help maintain obedience training (upon your request) with such tasks as sitting at every corner, heeling when crossing the streets, etc. We will happily take walks to the dog park for added exercise if you and your dog desire.

What are the advantages of using a Pet Sitter? Why Hire a Pet Sitter?

It can be tough deciding on what to do with your beloved pet when planning a business trip or vacation. Should you impose on friends or neighbors in hopes that they will just be "alright" until you get back? Take them with you? Many times taking them with you is not an option, or may even cause more stress if your pet is not used to travel.

A lot of animals are territorial as well and moving them from one environment to the next is stressful and compensates their state of well-being. Although some pets do quite well in a boarding situations, many exhibit signs of stress and nervousness, causing behavioral problems and/or illnesses. Instead of the alternatives such as kenneling and doggie day care, employing pet sitting services allows your pets to stay in its comfortable and secure surroundings , with familiar sights, smells and sounds, play toys, and food bowls. Pet sitters help to provide consistent routines that your pet and you can rely on.

Pet Sitters provide a measure of crime deterrence. As we check in and care for your pets, we are checking in on your home at the same time. Simple things like alternating drapes and lights, and taking in the mail can make the house appear "lived-in," and will deter criminals from entering your property.

Hiring a pet sitter can alleviate several problems. If left without sufficient loving attention and exercise, pets can become anxious, nervous and develop unwelcomed behaviors. A bored or lonely pet can become a "problem." And by hiring a pet sitter, you are promising your buddy knowledgeable care, loving attention and exercise.

p.s. Pet Sit is here for you!
