For Philadelphia dog owners and their loving companions who have not yet had the pleasurable experience of visiting one of the many local dog parks, please see the list below to find a dog park near your neighborhood. Please be sure to read all of their rules and regulations before visiting. In addition, any financial support that you can give to the associations affiliated with each park is greatly needed and appreciated by those groups who work so hard to create a safe and friendly environment for our beloved dogs as well as the community!)
Orianna Hill Dog Park
p.s. Pet Sit’s all time Fave!
Located in Northern Liberties on the 900 block of North Orianna Street, between 2nd and 3rd and Poplar and Wildey Streets, Orianna Hill Park is a privately owned community garden and dog run. Friends of Orianna Hill park is a 401 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to maintaining the park. Equip with many toys and balls, this dog park is p.s. Pet Sit’s personal favorite. Its visitors exhibit a great sense of ownership and pride over the park. There are several chairs to sit in, lovely murals and artistic additions, fresh water for the dogs, a community board, trash cans, mulch grounds and several trees. It looks upon the Liberty Lands Park and on Friday afternoons during the warmer months, neighbors gather for a doggie Happy Hour to celebrate the weekend and support the health of the park. We LOVE this park! www.oriannahill.org
(To become a member of the Friends of Orianna Hill Dog Park, according to Anne Waginger, the organization's president, there is a small annual membership fee of $30. This fee covers the maintenance and care of the park, including repairs and upgrades to park facilities. I think it is a small price to pay to ensure that your neighborhood park is clean and maintained with your pet's safety in mind!)
Seger Dog Park
Located at 10th and Lombard Streets, Seger Park is a charming urban open space that is maintained by the Department of Recreation, the Seger Advisory Council, and the community. It has mulch and asphalt grounds, benches, and a community board. www.segerdogpark.org
