Want to be a P.S. Pet Sitter?

Being a professional Pet Sitter is the best job in the world =) We LOVE what we do—and our love is evident to our clients and their pets. We go beyond the expected standards of care and take every opportunity to provide the best service possible.

We're a bonded and insured professional sitting/walking service that serves Philadelphia primarily in from the Art Museum to the Northern Liberties areas (Front to 33rd, Girard to Market). We're looking for dynamic, organized and caring adults that have impeccable time management skills and a genuine love for pets. p.s. Pet Sit, LLC is a personal, client-focused business so people skills are a must.

The ideal applicant will have the following:

  • The desire to work with a supportive, professional company that encourages ownership in your work and is interested in making pet sitting their career. The desire to have an unconventional, friendly boss that respects your opinion and values your commitment and hard work. We are friendly and personal with our clients and therefore we are with our employees.
  • Love of ALL pets. Although the majority of our clients are cats and dogs, we also visit reptiles, birds, rodents and small mammals. Past experience handling these types of animals or a sincere desire to learn about them and how to handle and care for them is essential.
  • Previous or current pet ownership is required (owning a pet as a child doesn't count!)
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal) for interactions with pet parents and with the office.
  • A sense of humor that is relatable in person and in writing is a major bonus. Creative and analytical writing skills will be used daily. Great penmanship is a serious plus.
  • Ability to manage your own schedule, and complete assigned visits in a timely yet thorough manner. This position requires impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow detailed and varied instructions per client or office instruction.
  • Strength and confidence in handling various breeds and sizes of dogs, stinky situations and a variety of other possible situations that may arise with pets—the list is endless =)
  • Willingness to clean up after pets.
  • Own personal, RELIABLE transportation (not borrowed or shared). The use of a bike is encouraged for daily visits. An owned vehicle is a major plus due to the possible need of emergency pet transport and Pet Taxi Services, but is not mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of Philadelphia's areas and good map reading skills.
  • Some weekend and holiday availability.
  • Reliable cell phone with the desire and ability to return calls/text promptly and daily Internet access within your home.
  • Desire and ability to study for and pass the Pet Sitters International Accreditation Program. Willingness to obtain a CPR and Pet First Aide Certification through the American Red Cross.
  • Commitment to work with our company for at least 18 months. Our clients depend on our sitters/walkers for consistent, loving care from ONE sitter. Do NOT apply if you can't commit or if you think other jobs/school/hobbies would prohibit the requirements of the job being your first priority.

*APPLICANTS MUST…

  1. Be 21 years of age or older and pass a criminal background check.
  2. Live in our service areas –
    Northern Liberties
    Fishtown
